The Menopause Manifesto, Dr. Jen Gunter, Random House Canada, 2021

  • Detailed, clear health information about menopause from a feminist point of view to “own your own health with facts and feminism and take charge of the change”. A bit of a dense read, it has some detailed medical information that is then summed up at the end of each chapter in a section called “the bottom line”. Limited information on mental health during menopause.

The Wisdom of Menopause, Christiane Northrup, MD.

  • A dense and comprehensive book written by an MD and updated in 2021. Over 800 pages of medical information including a small chapter about depression in menopause. Although quite long, surprisingly quite easy to read, as women’s stories are interspersed throughout the text.
